Vietnam and Brazil have many things in common though we are located on two different hemisphere. Like Brazilians, Vietnamese are friendly, sincere and open. As two developing countries, our Governments and peoples have the same aspiration to strive for development and prosperity. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 8 May, 1989, our bilateral cooperation has been growing exceedingly well. Both sides have exchanged many high level delegations. The fruitful results of the visit to Brazil by CPV General Secretary Nong Duc Manh from 27-31 May, 2007 have opened up a new chapter in our bilateral relations. The Joint Statement of the visit clearly states that the two countries “are determined to cement the partnership of comprehensiveness, equality and mutual benefit; and support each other in the implementation of national development.”
